	Ohio School Facilities Construction Project
	September 2007 Update
	§ New High School Construction Document Phase Submission - CM has received the Construction Document Phase Submission from the Design Team. The OSDM Compliance, Constructability, and Budget Analysis is in progress. § New Elementary/Middle School – Bid - New Elementary/Middle School Facility Bid Package(s) were bid on September 25^th. - Post Bid Interviews are scheduled to occur October 2^nd & 3^rd with each of the ‘Apparent Low’ Bidders. Post Bid Interviews help to determine whether the ‘Apparent Low’ Bidder is capable of completing the scoped work. § New Elementary/Middle School Early Site Package - The Early Site Package contains all earthwork and sub-grade utility work necessary to prepare the site for the new facility. This includes engineering of the sub-base at the facility’s “footprint”, ensuring that the soils supporting the structure will be sufficient. - The Facility’s ‘Footprint’ has been completed to the sub-grade elevation. - Site Utilities are 95% complete. - Asphalt is scheduled to be installed the week of October 1^st. § High School Early Site Utilities Package - The Early Site Utilities Package consists of the sub-grade utility work necessary to accommodate remaining facilities after the existing High School is demolished. - The Early Site Utility Package is 98% complete. § High School Asbestos Abatement Package - The Asbestos Abatement Package at the High School is 100% complete. § High School Demolition & Site Improvement Package - The Demolition & Site Improvement Package consists of demolition of the current High School and select surrounding structures. The package also consists of preparation of the facility’s footprint and surrounding sub-grade. - The Front Entrance is scheduled to remain, along with the Conley Center and Tank Memorial Stadium. - The Demolition & Site Improvement Package is scheduled to begin in late October.

	§ New High School Schematic Design Phase Submission - Approved and Executed § New Elementary/Middle School Design Development Phase Submission - Submitted by Design Team and Review Completed by Project Team - Design Development expounds (builds upon) those Design Principles developed at the Schematic Design Phase. Design Development illustrates all of the intricacies of the designed – Mechanical Systems, Loose Furnishings, Electrical/Technological Systems, etc. § New Elementary/Middle School Early Site Package - The Early Site Package contains all earthwork and sub-grade utility work necessary to prepare the site for the new facility. This includes engineering of the sub-base at the facility’s “footprint”, ensuring that the soils supporting the structure will be sufficient. - Permitting for Site Work Submitted & Approved by State of Ohio - Bid Opening Successful - Work Scheduled to Begin Memorial Day Week § High School Early Site Utilities Package - The Early Site Utilities Package consists of the sub-grade utility work necessary to accommodate remaining facilities after the existing High School is demolished. - Preliminary Bid Documents have been submitted and are under review by the Project Team. - The following are dates of interest: ü Bid Package Advertisement → May 20^th & 27^th, 2007 ü Pre-Bid Meeting → May 24, 2007 ü Bid Opening → June 5, 2007

	Rendering and Floor Plan of New Facilities Accurate Surveys of All Properties Completed Topographical Surveys ALTA Boundary Surveys Final Geotechnical Studies Conducted Defines the type of soil through multiple core drillings. Provides data to assure that the building site is sufficient to support the structure to be built. Asbestos Evaluation Completed Defines hazardous materials that must be removed prior to demolition Schematic Design Completed for Elementary/Middle and High School Facility First draft of building blueprints Project Team Design Sessions Currently Being Conducted School employees are meeting with interior designers and architects to assure that the new facilities meet the educational needs of the future. Construction Testing Agent Approved Ohio School Facilities Commission requires the employment of a construction testing agent in order to test and assure that the materials used are of high quality during the construction process. (ex. Soil, Concrete, Rebar Steal, Footers, Welds, etc)
