WHEREAS The Department of Health, Education, and Welfare has published an implementation Regulation for Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, which prohibits sex discriminati0on in Federally – assisted education programs, and

WHEREAS specifically, Title IX states:

"No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subject to discrimination under any education program activity receiving Federal financial assistance…" and

WHEREAS the published Regulation, effective July 21,1975, describes how Title IX will be enforced and how it applies to educational institutions; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Ironton City Board of Education, Ironton School District, Ironton, Ohio, hereby does state its intention to assure compliance with the Rules and Regulations as set forth in the

Title IX implementing the Education Amendments of 1972, and as affected by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
