Purchases of Goods and Services

The philosophy of "the most goods and services, of the best quality, at the lowest cost" shall be the governing policy of the Ironton Board of Education on all school purchases. However, since the merchants, business, and professional people of Ironton contribute much financial and moral support to the schools of this District, it is henceforth the policy of this Board of Education to direct those empowered to purchase supplies, equipment, and services from merchants, business, and professional people within the City of Ironton, when costs and quality of such goods and services compare favorably with those from without the City. All such transactions shall be in compliance with State laws governing school district purchases. Quantity buying, price quotations, and other similar procedures which are in line with good business and management practices shall be followed by all who make purchases for the Ironton City School District.
