Personnel Records

 

A.  The Superintendent will develop and implement a comprehensive and efficient system of personnel

      records under the following guidelines:

 

     1.  A personal folder for each employee will be accurately maintained in the Treasurer’s office.

 

     2.  The following information shall be contained:

 

          a.  Application for employment;

          b.  References;

          c.  Records and information concerning compensation and payroll deductions;

          d.  Evaluations;

          e.  Records of discipline;

          f.  Such other information as may be required by the state;

          g.  Such other information which may be considered pertinent.

 

     3.  Medical treatment records of individual employees of the Board will be considered confidential. 

          They will not be open for public inspection and access will be limited to the Superintendent,

          Assistant Superintendent, members of the Board of Education, the appropriate building principal,

          and office personnel authorized by the Superintendent.  The Superintendent will take the necessary

          steps to safeguard unauthorized use of such confidential material.

 

      4.  Each employee will have the right upon request to review the contents of his/her personal file.

 

      5.  Employees may make written objections to any information contained in the file.

 

      6.  Lists of district employees’ names and home addresses will be released only to governmental

           agencies as required for official reports.

 

      7.  Personnel records shall be reviewed only in the confines of the office of the Superintendent or the

           Treasurer, in the presence of the Superintendent or the Treasurer.
