Title VI Clerical Aide

 

                The Ironton City School District will have as one of its part-time employees a Title VI Clerical Aide who will be employed by the Ironton Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Ironton City Superintendent of Schools.  The primary purpose or function of this position is to provide the clerical work and assistance needed for and related to the coordination and administration for the City Schools’ “Education of Handicapped Children Part B, EHA, as Amended by P.L. 94-142.”  The Title VI Clerical Aide will be paid at a wage or pay-scale as established by this Board of Education, and he/she shall work as needed, on call, such days and/or hours as are determined and set by the Program Coordinator, taking into account budget limitations.  The Title VI Clerical Aide shall be highly proficient in all office skills, especially typing. 

                The continued employment of the person in this position shall be contingent upon the Program’s continued funding each year by the federal government.

Duties, Responsibilities, Obligations

 

Title VI Clerical Aide

 

The Title VI Clerical Aide shall:

 

1)       serve as the clerical aide for the administration and coordination of  Special Education Programs in the

        Ironton City School District, including: E.M.R., L.D., Psychological  Services, Speech and Hearing

        Orthopedically Handicapped, Flow Thru, and other such classes,  units, and/or projects and programs;

 

2)       work largely or primarily for the Title VI Coordinator, School Psychologist; and the Speech and

       Hearing Therapist, as well as others eligible;

 

3)       work (generally) a six-hour day and a three-day week during the school year, or as otherwise

       determined by the program Director Coordinator;

 

4)       type such application forms, reports, etc. as are required in initiating, implementing, and evaluating programs in Special Education;

 

5)       type and file such papers (and other) as are necessary for the successful day-to-day operations of the

        programs;

 

6)       keep such books and records as are necessary (under the direction of the TitleVI Coordinator) for efficient fiscal management;

 

7)       type purchase orders, payroll forms, and/or other such documents (under the Coordinator’s direction)

       related to fiscal operations of the programs;

 

8)       work closely with the Treasurer of the Board of Education in all fiscal matters associated with the

       projects or programs in Special Education, and keep the School Psychologist and Coordinator informed

       at all times;            

 

9)       send out Special Education forms, tests, and other communications;

 

10)    prepare Special Education forms;

 

11)    make copies, as needed, on the office copier; cut stencils, mimeograph copies;

 

12)    place phone calls for School Psychologist, Coordinator, Speech and Hearing Therapist, and others, as necessary;

 

13)    answer and take  phone calls in the absence of the above employees;

 

14)    deliver Special Education materials to various school buildings, and

 

15)     communicate with parents of Special Education students under the direction and supervision of the    School Psychologist; Speech and Hearing Therapist, Coordinator, and such qualified professional personnel.
