BOARD POLICY 4244
Granting School Employees Who Work Fewer Than Thirty Hours Per Week
The Option of Purchasing, At Their Own Cost, The Same Health Care or
Hospitalization
Insurance Coverage As Now Provided Regular, Full-Time Employees On A
Shared-Cost Basis
In view of the high costs of health care and hospitalization, and the Board’s concern for the good health and general welfare of all school employees, the Ironton City Board of Education believes that all school employees should have the opportunity to be covered by hospitalization insurance. All full-time employees now have such coverage, on a shared-cost basis, under the district’s group hospitalization plan.
Therefore, the Ironton City Board of Education hereby makes it a policy, effective immediately, to allow all school employees of this district who work fewer than thirty hours per week the option of purchasing the same health or hospitalization insurance coverage as all other school employees. However, the total cost of the insurance coverage under this option shall be borne by each employee who works fewer than thirty hours per week.
