Assignment and Withdrawal of Pupil from School Withdrawal

 A student shall be withdrawn from school upon proof that the student no longer resides within the Ironton City School District.

Any request to withdraw a student for physical or mental handicapped reasons must be referred to the Superintendent of Schools for assessment of educational needs and proper placement.

 Assignment

Students who transfer into the Ironton City School District from schools approved by the Ohio State Department of Education will be assigned to the grade level indicated on the records of their previous school.

In the case of no school available, the principal shall make an educational assessment for the purpose of the assigning the pupil to a grade level.

 The Superintendent has authority to assign students to schools.  He, or his designee, is authorized to make assignment exceptions on the basis of hardship and student need.
