BOARD POLICY  5215.1

 

THE ISSUANCE OF TRANSCRIPTS OF CREDITS

 

A transcript of credit will be issued from the Ironton City School District under certain specified conditions and provisions, as follows:

 

1.      There shall be two (2) places or sources which provide transcripts of

credit in this district: (1) the office of the Ironton High School Principal,

for those who have graduated from Ironton High School; and (2) the

office of the Ironton City Superintendent of Schools in the Administration

Building, for those who have withdrawn, dropped out, or left the Ironton City

Schools for any other reason (s).

    

2.      A request for a transcript of credit must be made either in person or in writing – to

the Principal of Ironton High School (for graduates), and to the City Superintendent

of  Schools (for those who attended our schools but did not graduate therefrom.)

Graduates’ records shall be safely kept in the offices of Ironton High School, and

the records of all others (who withdrew dropped out, etc.) shall be safely kept in the

offices of Ironton High School and the records of all others (who withdrew dropped out, etc.) shall be safely kept in the office in the Administration Building.

 

3.      Telephoned requests for transcripts of credits will not be honored.

 

4.      Only those eligible (in accordance with state and federal laws and guidelines,

and with Board of Education Policy 5215) to receive a transcript will be

issued same.  There shall be proper and adequate identification of the person requesting

a transcript of credit, in order to determine eligibility.  Those without proper

identification and/or found to be ineligible shall be denied the transcript.

 

5.      The Principal of Ironton High School and the Superintendent of the Ironton City Schools

shall be responsible for the strict compliance with the laws, guidelines, and policies

governing the issuance of transcripts of credits.

 

6.      A request for a transcript of credit should allow three (3) days for the request to be filled.

However, the high school principal’s office and/or the Superintendent’s office shall make

every effort to facilitate the delivery of this service if time is of the essence to the person,

making the request, and if school business makes earlier processing of the request

practicable.

 

 

 


 

 

 

7.      There shall be no fee or charge for the service of  providing a transcript

from the Ironton City Schools, so long as the request is in good order and

reasonable.  Unreasonable requests for transcripts may be denied.

 

8.      If a student withdraws from an Ironton City School and transfers to a school in

another district, the principal of the Ironton School attended shall, upon official

request from the receiving school, send a copy of the student’s record to the school

receiving the student.  The original student record shall remain in the custody of the Ironton City Schools and shall be placed in the offices in the Administration Building.

 

9.      For as long as a student remains in the Ironton City Schools, his/her original

record shall follow him/her from one school to another in the academic

progression, K-12.
