Vocational Education
The law of the State of Ohio (RC 3313.90) requires that each school district establish and maintain a vocational educational program adequate to prepare a pupil enrolled therein for an occupation.which program shall meet standards adopted by the State Board of Education.
A school district that is a member of a joint vocational district and meets the standards adopted by the State Board of Education is in compliance with this section.
In meeting standards established by the State Board of Education, school districts, where practicable, shall provide vocational programs in high schools.
The Ironton City Schools will be in compliance with State laws and State Department of Education by:
1. Membership in the Lawrence County Joint Vocational School District and by sending high
school juniors and seniors there (by student’s own choice); and
2. Offering vocational programs such as auto mechanics, home economics, and other such
subjects or courses at Ironton High School.
