Principles of Ethics and Democracy in the
Graded Course of Study
A. The Ironton City Board of Education feels a strong commitment to instilling a sense of pride among the district’s pupils in the democratic process and a commitment to instilling a sense of pride among the district’s pupils in living in a nation governed by this process.
B. The Board further feels a commitment to making pupils aware of the importance and significance of developing ethical principles in their lives.
C. In support of the above commitments, the Board will reinforce all efforts to include the principles
democracy and ethics in all parts of the curriculum.
D. The Board also strongly encourages all certificated and noncertificated employees to be aware of their roles in instilling ethical principles and democratic ideals in all district pupils. Certificated and noncertificated employees are encouraged to make a conscious effort to reinforce ethical behavior and pride in our country among students.
