Ironton Academic Board
The Ironton City Schools shall have an Ironton Academic Board, as follows:
“To allow discussion of academic and related matters of concern to educators,
parents, administrators, and board members, and to make recommendations to
the Ironton City Board of Education of possible improvements.”
The make-up of the Ironton Academic Board shall be as follows:
A. The City Superintendent of Schools (or his designee).
B. Two members of the Ironton City Board of Education, appointed by the president of the
Board.
C. A teacher representative to be selected by the Superintendent from each of the following:
1. Ironton High School
2. Ironton Junior High School
3. The elementary schools
D. Three (3) citizens (who cannot be certified people, such as teachers, and/or other) to be
nominated by the Academic Board and presented to the Ironton Board of Education and
presented for consideration to serve as follows:
1. One member would be appointed to serve for one (1) year.
2. One member would be appointed to serve a two (2) year term.
3. One member would be appointed to serve a three (3) year term
(initially, so that a new member would be coming on annually after the first year).
The Ironton Academic Board will meet monthly during the school year at a date and time determined at the annual organizational meeting.
