Educational Program
and
Educational Resources Evaluation
The Ironton City Board of Education hereby makes it a Policy that all educational programs and educational resources shall be evaluated every five years.
The Ironton City Superintendent of Schools shall have the authority to form such committees as are necessary to accomplish this task. The Superintendent shall also have the authority to name committee members and chairpersons.
A five-year schedule shall be implemented to insure that all programs and resources are regularly evaluated.
Suggested evaluation instruments would be checklists, standardized tests, teacher surveys,student surveys, parental surveys, and acceptable commercial instruments used in evaluating programs and resources.
Educational Programs to be evaluated
include the following:
1. Philosophy of Education and Goals
2. Curriculum and Instruction
3. Educational Options
4. Experimental Programs
5. Educational Programs Evaluation
Educational Resources to be evaluated include the following:
1. The certified and classified staff
2. Instructional materials and equipment
3. Facilities
4. Pupil health and safety
5. Pupil cumulative records
6. Pupil admission, placement, and withdrawal
7. Pupil attendance
8. Pupil conduct
9. School guidance services
10. Pupil activity programs
11. School-community relations
The evaluation shall include a study of resource allocation to determine if minimum standards are
being met and if the distribution of resources to buildings, grades, teachers, etc., are being made on an equitable basis. The assistance of the Ohio Department of Education and higher education staff members may be sought in designing an evaluation format.
