Board Member Authority
(and Duties)
Because all powers of the Board lie in its action as a group, individual members should exercise their authority over affairs as they vote to take action at a legal meeting of the Board.
An individual Board members has power only when the Board, by vote, has delegated authority to him.
It will be the duty of the individual members of the Board of Education to attend all legally called meetings of the Board, except for compelling reasons to the contrary; to participate in the normal business operations of the Board at the meetings and to represent interests of all citizens of the School District in matters affecting the education of the students in the District.
