Record of Proceedings

(Minutes)

The minutes of the meeting of the Board of Education constitutes the written record of Board action.  For most purposes the board speaks only through the minutes, and it is by the minutes that the record of what the Board has done or not done is proven.

The Treasurer of the Board of the Ironton City School District shall record the proceedings of each meeting in a book to be provided for that purpose, which shall be a public record.  The record of proceedings at each meeting of the board shall be read at its next succeeding meeting unless provided to board members two (2) days in advance and made available to the public and news media, in which case reading can be waived.  They should be corrected, if necessary, and approved.  The approval shall be noted in the proceedings.  After such approval, the president shall sign the record and the Treasurer attest it.
