  • Must be attending Ohio University Athens

Ohio Newspapers Foundation Minority Journalism Scholarship
Deadline: April 18th
  • Applicants should be African American, Hispanic, Asian American or American Indian
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Demonstrate ability to write clearly in an autobiography of 750 to 1000 words describing academic and career interests, awards, extracurricular activities and any journalism-related activities
  • 2 letters of recommendation from high school faculty familiar with the student’s work
  • May provide additional information such as samples of work or articles that have been published

Jeannie Gatrell Memorial Scholarship
Deadline: April 26th
  • Family Life in some way must be or have been affected by an aneurysm. Special consideration will be given to applicants impacted by a brain aneurysm
  • 3 Letters of recommendation
  • 2-3 page essay describing how an aneurysm has impacted the applicants life

ICAP (Ironton College Access Program) Scholarship
Deadline: May 10th
  • Minimum GPA 2.5
  • Minimum ACT score of 17
  • Copy of SAR from the FAFSA
  • Letter of acceptance from a postsecondary institution
  • Financial aid award letter from a postsecondary institution
