IES Community Service Project

Ironton Elementary Students decided to collect donations to help the Lawrence County Animal Shelter after a few students were inspired by reading the book Shiloh. The Student Leadership Team organized, collected, and counted the money donated every day from Wednesday, October 9th through Wednesday, October 16th. A total of $1,724.89 was collected. In addition to our donation, the rescue group Gigi’s from Columbus is donating $3 for every $1 donated. As a result of our donations, the Lawrence County Animal Shelter will be receiving a final total of $6,899.56. Thank you to everyone who helped make this community service project a success!
